Brendan first started working for Sanders Plumbing in 2013 as a trainee and quickly became a skilled plumbing technician. He is currently in the process of obtaining his Master Plumber’s license.
1. What is the funniest thing that has happened to you on the job?
Getting stuck in a ceiling and the guys having to pull me out by my feet. Our customer had a leak somewhere that no one else could get to but me. I got it, but I got stuck too.
2. What is the worst nightmare plumbing job you have ever completed?
We were working on a sewer main where I had to dig around an 8″ gas line that could have blown up if we made contact. That was really scary.
3. If you were a plumbing tool, which one would you be, and why?
I would be a supply line wrench because it’s convenient, versatile, and something you keep with you for everyday use.
4. Which jobs have you held in the past and how did you become a plumber?
I have worked as a mechanic, factory worker, carpet/flooring tech, and a few other positions. When I met Pete he asked me if I was afraid of tight spaces and luckily I am not. The guys all call me Bones because I’m small and can get into places none of them can. I can fit between walls and in tiny crawlspaces. One tech always says I’m like a cat or raccoon; if I can get my head in, the rest of me will be a piece of cake.
5. What do you believe makes a successful company?
Having a positive atmosphere and having everyone on the same page. That’s something I have here at Sanders. No one wants to dread going to work in the morning. I enjoy coming in each day and cutting up with the crew sometimes. It makes the day and the job better.
